The third Sotterley Country Fair will be held at the beautiful Sotterley Estate in rural north-east Suffolk with proceeds going directly to local charities. In 2015 over £7000 was raised for local charities and in 2016 this increased to over £10,000. Well done to all!
This is a really lovely day out for all the family “a proper old school country fair” atmosphere with a huge amount of stalls and things to do to name a few…
Arts and crafts produce, a dog show, fun scurry and agility, in the main ring birds of prey displays, agility, horse logging and hounds. Traditional games, classic cars, vintage tractors and steam engines, live music from lunchtime, childrens activities to include mini beasts, arts and crafts and absolutely not forgetting the range of wonderful food and drinks.
Last but not least – me. Wise Owl, Brown Bear, Moongazing Hare or Fallow Deer? I will have a variety of sculptures for sale and will also be giving live chainsaw carving demonstrations throughout the day.
if you only go to one event this year make it the Strumpshaw Tree Fair you won’t be disappointed. Set in the grounds of the wonderful Strumpshaw Steam museum among the grass and trees there is an atmosphere of fund and wonderment. Artisans form all over the country attend with their wares on display and many are demonstrating how they create their artwork where you will be welcomed to stop and watch.
Plenty of food for all tastes including vegan and gluten free.
